Useful For
Useful in the diagnosis of primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC). M2 anti-mitochondrial autoantibodies (antimitochondrial antibodies directed against the M2 autoantigen) are the most specific and sensitive immunologic markers for PBC. Definitive diagnosis of PBC should be based on the correlation of all available clinical, biochemical, radiographic, and liver biopsy information.
