Case of the Month - Cutaneous Mass on a Dog
Figure 1: Cytologically, the specimen is of high cellularity consisting of a population of discrete round cells within a background of fresh blood. Cells have moderate or abundant amounts of bluish cytoplasm; nuclei are frequently eccentric and are round to oval with fine to moderately coarse chromatin and indistinct nucleoli. Cells are occasionally multinucleated.
History: 12-year-old lab mix with a mass described as a discrete, alopecic, dermal mass over the sternum.
