IgM: Negative

IgG: Negative

Interpretation
A positive IgG generally indicates infection with CMV at some time. The simultaneous detection of IgM antibodies signifies recent infection or reactivation of latent infection.

General interpretive guidelines:
IgG Negative: Not infected or very early infection
IgG Positive: Infected
IgG Positive / IgM Negative: Prior exposure at indeterminate time.
IgG Positive / IgM Positive: Suggests acute infection.
IgG Negative / IgM Positive: Early disease, re-activation, or false-positive IgM. Repeat in 2-3 weeks.
Equivocal Results: Indeterminate. Retest if clinically indicated.
