BABNAT - Babesia microti

Useful For

- Evaluation of the most common tick-borne diseases found in the United States, including anaplasmosis,    ehrlichiosis, and babesiosis.
- Does not include Lyme disease testing at this time.  Order LYMPAN for Lyme disease serology on serum.
- Evaluation of patients with a history of, or suspected, tick exposure who are presenting with fever, myalgia, headache, nausea, and other nonspecific symptoms.

This panel consists of two Real-Time PCR tests. Anaplasma/Ehrlichia (ANENAT) test and detection of Babesia microti (BABNAT).This panel should not be used for screening asymptomatic individuals, and should only be used to test patients with signs and symptoms of Ehrlichiosis/Anaplasmosis and/or Babesiosis.
