Test Information
The calculated LDL Cholesterol is the routine LDL test. This direct serum test should only be ordered as a secondary test following abnormal lipoprotein panel results where LDL calculation cannot be used.​

Marshfield​ <=19 yrs:   60-110 mg/dL 
>=20 yrs:   80-130 mg/dL ​
Interpretation
Desirable LDL-CHOL is < or = to 100 if Coronary Heart Disease (CHD), Peripheral Vascular Disease, or Diabetes is present.
Desirable LDL-CHOL is < 130 where no CHD is present and there are 2 or more risk factors.
Desirable LDL-CHOL is < 160 where no CHD is present and there are 1 or less risk factors.
Risk factors include: Age (Males > 45; Females > 55); Smoker; High Blood Pressure; Family History of Premature CHD; HDL < 40 (If HDL > 60, subtract one risk factor).​
