Test Information
Always includes HLA Antibody Detection. If HLA Antibody Screen is positive, also includes HLA Antibody Identification - Class I and/or HLA Antibody Identification - Class II.
The HLA Antibody Detection and Identification must be completed before HLA matched platelets will be available from the Blood Center.
The Blood Center may not send HLA matched platelets when the patient has negative HLA Antibody Detection and Identification results. Transfusion Services will be notified and will send an HLA-Matched Platelets Progress Note/Sticker indicating that the Blood Center is NOT collecting HLA-matched products.​
