Collection Processing Instructions
Do not use a needle smaller than a 21 gauge for collection. Obtain appropriate volume of blood in first tube labeled DISCARD. Obtain same volume for the two sample specimens next and immediately gently invert tubes 5 times to mix anticoagulant with the blood.  Do not refrigerate, freeze, or centrifuge sample specimen.​

Test should not be performed on patients that have received IIbIIIa inhibitors such as Integrilin or Aggrastat within 48 hour or Reo Pro within 14 days as these drugs will interfere with the test.​

Reference Range Information
Performing Location Reference Range
Based on preliminary manufacturer information, the recommended therapeutic range for P2Y12 inhibitors (e.g.clopidogrel) is 95-207 P2PRU. Patients with levels above this range are at risk for cardiovascular events, and those with levels below this range maybe at an increased risk of bleeding.
Interpretation
Effective August 28, 2012, percent inhibition parameter will not be available due to changes made by Accumetrics.
